By using neighborfixguide.com you agree to these terms. They're written to be read.

1. What NeighborFix Guide is

NeighborFix Guide is a free referral service. We are not a contractor and do not perform services. Calls and requests are connected to independent local service providers who pay us for referrals. We publish general home-maintenance information and connect people with providers through third-party call and lead networks. See How it works for details.

2. Providers are independent

Providers are independent businesses. They are not our employees, agents or partners, and we don't control or supervise their work. Any agreement for services is between you and the provider. You are responsible for deciding whether to hire a provider, and we encourage you to confirm any required state or local licenses, ask about liability coverage and get a written estimate before work begins. We aren't responsible for a provider's prices, availability, workmanship, conduct or the outcome of any job.

3. Information on this site

Our pages are general information, not professional, legal, medical or safety advice for your specific situation. We cite public sources and show when each was retrieved, but data can be out of date or wrong, and conditions in your home may differ. Cost figures are estimated ranges from the sources listed, not quotes or offers. Tools on this site give rough estimates for planning, not inspections or diagnoses.

4. Emergencies

If you smell gas, leave the building and call your gas utility from outside. If there is fire, a carbon monoxide alarm or anyone in danger, call 911. Don't rely on this site in an emergency.

5. Calls and forms

Calls may be routed and recorded by a third-party call network as described in our privacy policy. When you submit a callback form, you agree to be contacted as described next to the submit button. Please don't submit someone else's information or make calls that aren't genuine requests for service.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no automated scraping that burdens it, no attempts to break its security, no spam or fake form submissions, and no copying our original text, charts or tools in bulk to republish as your own. Quoting a figure with a link back to the page is welcome.

7. Third-party links

We link to government agencies, universities, utilities and other sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

8. No warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, NeighborFix Guide is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from services performed by a provider, from your use of the site's information or tools, or from your inability to use the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version; using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
